But things have been going ok. When I got here there was a group from Louisina. We went to several missions. One time we spent the night there in the church on cots. I can´t begin to describe the conditions .. dirt floors no indoor plumbing .. including showers. And something during that trip made me get sick because the third day I was here I was getting sick from both ends. To say the least I was miserable that day. I am trying to get use to the food but rice and beans can only go so far.

God has moved so strongly for the short time that I have been here. He has showe me people of incredible faith and people who need the love of Jesus. Even though I know that this will be a trying time I pray that God will just be glorified with everything that I may do.

Tomorrow Oscar invited all the youth to come and play soccer with me and him, I am looking forward to that. I also have started my spanish classes 3 times a week with a teacher who speaks no english. However I have gotten pretty use to that since hardly anyone speaks english here. I just try to understand as much as possible and be as polite as I can with the words that I do know.

Well I do not know when I will be able to get on next so .. farewell for now.

I MADE IT!!!

Well after a long tretourous series of flights .. I can't believe that the day is less than twenty four hours away until I embark on this incredible journey. I really didn't get a chance to explain the whole purpose in my trip last time. I really don't know what possessed me to deport myself away to a third world country for two months. Of course I had a lot of best friend influences, but all in all, after butterflies sink to the bottom of my stomach I would say that this is nothing but a once in a life time opportunity that I am super excited and blessed to be able to do.

I will be staying with a missionary family in a town called Catarina, which is about 20 miles somewhat South of Managua (I was never really good with direction). Going into it I really am blind sighted to what exactly I will be doing. I do know that I will travel with the missionary family to surrounding villages, participate in church activties and take spanish classes. I know that God has a lot in store for me, he will teach me a lot through this culture, and maybe I can teach them a tiny bit as well.

As for right now I just ask that you all would pray for safe travel tomorrow, and for boldness when I get there. I have a tendency to clam up real well when I am in a surrounding I don't know that well and with people I don't know very well. Also I ask that you would pray that I would learn to trust God in a whole new deeper and intimate level. To be surrounded in a culture where most people don't speak a language I understand and for me not to have any friends that I would just find comfort in him when I get lonely or begin to be spiritually attacked.

I wanted to include a map just so that y'all would understand where I would be:

... just look for the tiny city, Catarina, below Managua. Then when I talk about surrounding villages you will know where they are.

let the countdown begin ...

18 days until the 4am wake up call to go the Little Rock airport to embark on a 2 month journey to Nicargua.
